It took 20 years for the Pittsburgh Pirates to finally achieve a winning season and a birth in the playoffs. This is a new experience for my generation, having never been able to feel the excitement of playoff baseball in Pittsburgh! Their recent success has brought the attention to many people who lost interst over the previous 20 years of losing baseball. Hopefully this will spark interest in baseball again in the city of Pittsburgh and bring many new fans!

It is safe to say that this sparked interest in baseball in the city of Pittsburgh and brought many new fans. PNC set a record with 40,487 people attending the wildcard game against the Reds. I personally believe the Pittsburgh fans are the reason that the Pirates jumped on top of the Reds and won the game. The fans got into the Reds pitchers heads by screaming their last names. I am not a Pirates fan, but since the Yankees did not make it to the playoffs I am cheering for the Pirates. Go Bucs!
